The Dalles High School JV2 football team traveled to Gladstone yesterday in an old Tri-Valley Conference rivalry game to open their 2021 season.
The rescheduled varsity football game for the Riverhawks on Saturday, September 11th at 5 p.m. against Fort Vancouver High School has been canceled.
Due to team ( St. Helens team) quarantine, the previously scheduled game with St. Helens at St. Helens this coming Friday, September 10th has been canceled. The JV2 football game has also been canceled with St. Helens.
The Dalles Riverhawks varsity football tea played against the Forest Grove Vikings yesterday, September 4th and it didn’t go the way they wanted it to.
The Dalles Riverhawks volleyball team had their first match of the season on Thursday, September 2nd. They played the North Marion Huskies and won all three games. A team with only one senior and lots of juniors, the Hawks are young but talented.

Today, Friday, September 3rd, The Dalles Riverhawks will play their first game of the 2021 Fall season. They face the 5A Forest Grove Vikings. The game is at 7 PM at Sid White Field.
The Dalles Riverhawks volleyball team is a special team this year. They have 6 returning varsity players this year who are very talented. With a new coaching staff and record-high 4 teams, the future looks great for the Hawks.
Every Fall sport started practice for the 2021 season last week. Girls soccer is one of them and it’s a team a lot of us are looking forward to watching. The Hawks had a winning season last year and in the league playoffs, lost in heartbreaking fashion to rival Hood River Valley in 2nd overtime.
The Dalles High School Football has started practice this week. With a new head coach at the mantle and not many seniors it’s an interesting season we’re heading into. They’re having a full season this year unlike last year where the Riverhawks went 2-3 on the shortened season.
We’re about to have a world-class athletic complex near us. That’s unheard of for a place like the Columbia Gorge. The Maupin Deschutes River Athletic Complex is being built right now. World-class athletes like Usain Bolt could go and set records at that track.
After a two-year hiatus, the inaugural season and community-run/walk is BACK! The hilly 3K AND 5K courses loop around Sorosis Park and CGCC on gravel, grass, and pavement. Runners and walkers of all ages and experiences are welcome.
Lynn Helyer was named the new head coach for The Dalles High School this morning, July 27. Coach Helyer used to be the head coach for TDHS. He coached when they were still the Eagle Indians in 2011 and 2012. He took over for Andy Codding at that time also.
Dufur baseball continues to produce college-level talent in recent years and this upcoming is no different. Led by seniors Carson Smith, Gabe Petroff, Brock LaFavre, and Isaac Anthony, the Rangers are hoping for big things in the upcoming season.

A big turnout for The Dalles High School summer basketball league has Coach Greg Cummings ecstatic. They have about 30 kids this year which is fantastic and the best summer league in years.
This upcoming weekend, July 17-19 the Race Across Oregon will be going on starting in The Dalles at the Fairfield Inn. This will be the 26th annual race. It is a grueling challenge only for the fittest of bikers willing to take on a 500-mile or 260-mile challenge.
This past Saturday, July 10th Cascade Bass Masters had their 3rd club tournament in The Dalles at the Columbia River. The winners of the tournament are Clint Messner and Eric Wilson with their fish weighing in at 15 pounds and 10 ounces
