Downtown The Dalles will be bubbling with beverages, flowers, and fun tonight as Downtown The Dalles kicks off its First Friday season with an ode to Spring. Morning Showers are expected to give way to temperatures in the 60s this afternoon, making for great conditions to go sidewalk cruising and boutique beverage consuming.

April Power brings musical flowers this week as the Bargeway Pub kicks it off with a show tonight, April 5 at 6 p.m. with Sarah Lodge & Dan Polidori playing an eclectic acoustic blend of top R&B, soul, pop and blues music. It’s just one of the dozens of offerings in music, literature, festivals, art, drum circles, plays, movies and more. It is spring in The Dalles, and this year is an Organ Crawl year! April 16th 2023 celebrates the 9th Biennial Organ Crawl, which was started in 2007 by Robert Carsner (1940-2014).

The Northwest Muralfest’s final mural was installed at 408 w 4th St The Dalles 4th St in The Dalles ,today, March 21st. To celebrate the the completion of the project, The Northwest MuralFest has announced the premiere of the The Dalles MuralFest Walldogs Movie that was made to document the event.

“One of the most exciting bands to come out of Ireland,” The Jeremiahs will be at UCC Church in The Dalles on Tuesday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. 

The first annual Kilt Crawl in downtown TD on St. Paddy’s Day be callin’ out like a wee lamb chased by a fox. You got to save it, laddies. Don’t be afraid. Chase after it ‘til the wind leaves your chest heaving like a donkey on a hillside.

Fort Dalles Museum’s seasonal opening is coming with some interesting new details as the local archive of all things The Dalles has several new exhibits including a curation of an opium pipe, needle and spoon found in a tunnel entrance south of The Dalles Mercantile.

The Dalles Cascade Singers and The-Almost-All-Irish-Almost-All-Brass-Band present the annual St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser at St. Peter’s Landmark. This annual event collects donations to benefit the historic St. Peter’s Landmark located at the corner of Lincoln and 3rd Streets. Official festivities commence Friday, March 17th, at 7:00 P.M.

Eli Howard hits the Bargeway on Wednesday, March 15 at 7 p.m. Howard was at The Dalles Art Center last May with his full ensemble, Eli Howard & the Greater Good. Good show! St. Patrick’s day be bringing some fine acts and chances to swing your lover to and fro, even some kilts to keep your pint chasing comfortable.

Seventh-Graders at The Dalles Middle School took in some local history today, March 14 as local docents expounded on the history of people featured in the new murals painted in the downtown corridor.

On Monday, March 13, The Dalles Art Center sent out an email letting members know that if $3,500 cannot be raised by March 31, the Board plans on moving ahead with “the painful responsibility of closing The Dalles Art Center by April 15th. This is a public appeal to all residents and businesses to help us avoid such a devastating loss to the community.”

The Dalles Middle School choir left an indelible impression on the audience during its spring choir concert at Old St. Peter's Landmark Church on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. The event was a resounding success, and attendees couldn't stop raving about the exceptional performance of the choir. The music selections were nothing short of amazing, and the students' hard work and dedication shone through in every note.

What a great way to stay toasted on a cold day. Exit 69 was as good a Cold IPA as I have had. I put it up there with Boneyard’s RPM. So good in fact, we bought the four-pack of 16-ouncers to share during the week. It was a short week. At 6.3 percent alcohol, it had a good kick and a lightness that led to a second pint.
