Put A Pint in It; Kilt Crawl be callin' yer name in Ol' TD, Lassies
By Tom Peterson
The first annual Kilt Crawl in downtown TD on St. Paddy’s Day be calling out like a wee lamb chased by a fox.
You got to save it, laddies!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t be afraid. Chase after it ‘til the wind leaves your chest heaving like a donkey on a hillside.
But first, get your kilt on, fer Christ’s sakes.
Don’t have one, ya say? Well, get to St. Vincent’s. He’ll have somtin fer ye. Or ask yer romantic partner for some help. Maybe there’s an extra skirt in the closet.
Dear Jesus, just wrap a flannel around your waist and get goin.’ You ain’t got all night.
The Dalles Kilt Crawl on Friday, March 17, starts at 6 p.m.
A “Passport” will be available to visit all the businesses that are committed to staying open for the First Annual Kilt Crawl.
Here are some places you might try out:
Bargeway Pub will have traditional food and music by the lads from the NBC& R Band.
Bryan and Johna LaRoque at Route 30 will have the Got Your Six band, corned beef and cabbage, and Tullamore D.E.W. whiskey.
We always tell ‘em more!
Clock Tower Ales will be bringing a full menu of Irish food all weekend, including Irish Eggs, lamb shanks and chocolate mint cheesecake. And while you’re there take out some trash - an Irish Trash Can, that is - vodka, gin, rum, pear schnapps, blue curacao liquor, lemon and Red Bull.
Zim’s Brau Haus will also be heaping up the corned beef and cabbage and delivering on the green beer to live music of Take Two starting at 7 p.m. They’ll be bringing their Irish best.
The Last Stop will feature a nice Guinness and the music of Al O’Hare.
That’s just a taste of the samplings with the rest of downtown also swinging a kilt through the evening. We apologize for not having a complete and confirmed list but these events take on a life of their own. Generally, head downtown and have an adventure.
