The Dalles Riverhawks basketball team played against cross field rivals the Dufur Rangers on Wednesday, Dec 8th in The Dalles in what was a hard-fought game on both sides. The Hawks went on to win 41-27.
The Dalles boys basketball team lost their season opener in a heartbreaking fashion on Tuesday, Dec 7th. The Hawks played the Parkrose Broncos in Parkrose, and it was a tight game going down the stretch.
The Dalles Girls Basketball team played against the Parkrose Broncos last night, Dec. 7th, in a non-league game and absolutely dominated on both sides of the ball. The Hawks won in a 48-12 blowout.
On December 8th at 9:30 a.m. at the Columbia Gorge Toyota and Honda we will be doing a check presentation with Scott Baker from Parks and Recreation to donate all funds raised from the event. We have a total of, $3,260 that will be donated specifically towards the Sorosis Park replanting fund.
The Dalles Riverhawks boys basketball team played in their annual Jamboree before their season started last week on Dec 2nd in Corbett. With their numbers limited due to sickness, the Hawks did phenomenal with what they had. The varsity team posted a 2-1 record while the JV team went undefeated.
An older and more experienced TDHS boys’ basketball team led by coach Cummings plays its first game at Corbett tonight, Dec. 2. The girls’ team this year is led by new head coach Darcy Hodges. Her team is a little on the younger side but their future looks bright. They play McKay High School on Friday, Dec. 3.
Since 1997, Scott Limbach’s 5K record of 15:35 had stood like a challenge - or a taunt - on the high school wall. Juan Diego Contreras obliterated the cross country time on Saturday at Lakewood High School at a smoking 15 minutes, 25 seconds, beating the 24-year-old mark.
The first annual Turkey Trot event in The Dalles will be held on Thanksgiving, Nov. 25th. There are two different runs at the event. The first is a 5k run/walk or there’s a family fun 1-mile run. The event begins at 8 AM at Lewis and Clark and the 5k walk/run will be along the Riverfront Trail.
Just two weeks until winter sports for The Dalles High School kicks off with a basketball jamboree. And after talking to Atheltic Director Billy Brost, winter sports has an amazing turnout. TDHS will put a total six basketball teams on the court. Yes, 6.
The Dalles High School athletic department recently announced the hiring of Shea MacNab as the new head swim coach. MacNab, a 1994 graduate of The Dalles High School, returns for his second stint as the head coach.
The Dalles finished up their fall season of sports and many athletes made the all-conference lists. Congrats to all the athletes.
With breezy and muddy conditions, very few Riverhawk runners saw their best times at the State Meet in Eugene this weekend, and yet both teams placed significantly better than expected.
The Dalles Riverhawks football team played against the Rex Putnam Kingsmen last Friday night in The Dalles. It was a cold night and senior night for the 7 seniors on the team. It was also the last game of the season for the team and they were ready to go out there and win. Unfortunately, they lost 55-41.
TDHS Riverhawks Cross Country had a strong showing at IMC Championships, the boys taking first place. Both teams have made it into the state finals set for Nov. 6. Go Hawks!
The Riverhawk’s boys varsity soccer team punched their ticket to the playoffs on Tuesday evening in a close match that saw The Dalles team play some tough defense and score when they needed to in a tight 2-1 victory over Redmond.
The Dalles High School Varsity Soccer Team is in the hunt for a playoff berth as the teaming is starting to jell and getting outstanding play from Freshman phenom Hulises Najera. The team needs to beat Redmond on Tuesday, Oct. 26, to punch their ticket for the playoffs.

On Saturday, Oct. 16, our competition and defending state champion cheer program went to Sherwood, and came home with a HUGE win in their 5A Large Division for Gameday Championships. Volleyball, Cross Country and Soccer are in action Thursday, Oct. 21.
The Dalles Riverhawks football team played against the Ridgeview Ravens last night in Redmond at 7 PM. It was the 6th game of the season for the Hawks and they, unfortunately lost 49-12.
