The Dalles Riverhawks boys basketball took flight at their annual Jamboree on Dec. 2 in Corbett, which provided Coach Greg Cummings team a good test before the official start of the season set to start Tuesday, Dec. 7

With their numbers limited due to sickness, the Hawks did phenomenal with the players they brought to the floor.

The varsity team posted a 2-1 record while the JV team went undefeated.

The Hawks have an older team this year with loads of talent and hard workers. Led by their big three of Styles Deleon, Andre Niko, and Henry Begay there were a lot of exciting plays during the Jamboree. There were a few dunks, but the most exciting was an alley-oop dunk thrown down by Andre Niko who was assisted by Henry Begay.

“It’s been the most exciting I have seen this team play,” said senior guard Jaxon Pullen of his years on the team. Pullen sat much of the game after coming back from an illness.

TDHS Varsity boys this year look to have a fast-paced up-tempo offense that looks to score fast and get back on defense even faster.

They open their season at Parkrose at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. You can expect a lot more of those kinds of plays this season from the Hawks, so I encourage everyone to go watch and support the team.
