The Centennial Celebration took place in the Civic Auditorium’s ballroom, where local Kiwanis held their first charter presentation over 100 years ago.
TD Kiwanis literally stuff the bus in school supply drive
The Dalles Kiwanis Club celebrated its second annual “Stuff-the-Bus” project. The three-day event in late August produced enough school supplies to literally fill a bus on loan from the local school district.
Kiwanis Steak Feed Cancelled
The Dalles Kiwanis Club has decided to cancel this year’s Steak Feed fundraiser out of the utmost care and concern for its beloved community’s health and well-being. The event was initially scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 9.
Cascade Singers bustin' loose, plan live concert for Fall
The Dalles Cascade Singers are back in action as we prepare for our first live concert in 2021. This Fall concert features music from the hit musicals Anything Goes, West Side Story, Godspell, Rent, and Hamilton. The concert is slated for October and we are inviting new singers to join our group.
Original Wasco Courthouse resumes normal hours after COVID closures
The Original Wasco County Courthouse is back on its normal summer schedule after the COVID-19 closures. Days and hours are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kiwanis Programs Loaded for June 2021
The Dalles Kiwanis have a loaded schedule for its weekly programs this June. Lisa Commander, education director at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, and Andrea Klaas, executive director of Port of The Dalles, will be speaking in their areas of expertise. The Dalles organist Garry Estep will present a concert on the Phelps-d’Autremont pipe organ located at Zion Lutheran Church on Sunday, June 6 at 2 p.m.

The “Organ Crawl” featuring five historic pipe organs in The Dalles happens every other year, and 2021 is the year. Only this time the local tradition will be presented virtually.

Pat and Pete Together again, bringin' a wee bit O' the Irish
“St. Pat’s at St. Pete’s” is going virtual this year. It is the 23rd-annual St. Patrick’s Day concert benefiting St. Peter’s Landmark after last year's COVID-19 cancellation. The videotaped program will be posted to YouTube on March 17.
