— Apr. 8 Interim D-21 Superintendent Theresa Peters speaks on plans for opening the schools and the challenges during the pandemic.

— Apr. 15 Wildlife Biologist and Habitat Consultant Bill Weiler talks about a great environmental project happening in the Columbia River Gorge.

— Apr. 22 Dan Bell, director of the Land Trust for Friends of the Columbia Gorge, tells about the proposed “Mt. Ulka” Trail and overlook adjacent to the golf course, and its connection to the Riverfront Trail at the Discovery Center.

— Apr. 29 is a club business meeting.

Karl Vercouteren

Karl Vercouteren came to The Dalles in 1977 to become pastor of United Church of Christ Congregational. Early on he joined Cascade Singers and the Original Courthouse board, reflecting life-long interests in music and history. Since retirement in 2008 he has taken on several projects writing about local history.
