Set Sail with Moana Jr. At The Dalles Middle School May 12-13 & 19-20

The Dalles Middle School Music and Theater Department presents Disney’s Moana JR. at The Dalles Middle School on Friday and Saturday, May 12-13, 2023 and Friday and Saturday, May 19-20, 2023. The 90-minute musical adventure, designed for middle school-aged performers, is based on the 2016 Disney film Moana. The seventh and eighth grade cast and crew includes 45 students led by TDMS Music Teacher, Leslie Sullivan.

Pick of the week: Moe Dixon pickin' with the Barrs in HR on Friday, Dec. 2.

Moe Dixon and Tess and Patrik Barr will play a free show at Riverside Community Church in Hood River on Friday, Dec. 2nd at noon. Dixon will also play The Pines in HR starting at 6 p.m. Miles From Nowhere, a four-piece band from Central Oregon will bring a set filled with Classic Rock, Blues, Country and Alternative to Zim’s in TD on Saturday, Dec. 3, starting at 7 p.m.

Montbleau, Jarabe Mexicano kick of huge week of entertainment in Gorge

Jarabe, which translates to “concoction,” highlights the eclectic mix of genres Jarebe Mexicano perform ranging from Mexican Folk, Rock & Roll, and Norteño/Tex-Mex to Latin Rock, Trío Romántico, and popular Cumbia. They hit the stage on Thursday, Oct. 6 at The Dalles Civic. They’re not just musicians but educators and ambassadors of culture and a ton of fun.

Join the Gorge Sinfonietta, with guest narrators and performers Tom Burns, Peter Tappert, Jennifer Miller Harty, Marcos Galvez and Kathleen Morrow for concerts fun for everyone, including the northwest premiere of "The Frog Prince" by Steven Winteregg and the world premiere of "A Sasquatch Portrait!" Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 PM, Discovery Center in The Dalles; Sunday, Nov 7 at 2 PM, River of Life Church, Hood River.

'Walk About Lyle' Community Fundraiser Promotes Healthy Habits and Community Improvement Efforts

Lyle Community Council will be hosting their first-ever “Walk About Lyle'' community fundraising event on September 25th from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. The Council hopes that the event will help foster community, promote healthy exercise and eating habits, celebrate the beauty and history of Lyle and raise awareness of the council’s efforts to better their community.
