Comedian Storyteller Jon Bennett present ‘Fire in the Meth Lab’ 

It’s an evening of Storytelling and Comedy at the Bingen Theater with “Fire in the Meth Lab,” with renowned Australian storyteller Jon Bennett (NPR, Just For Laughs). Bennett tells the “amazingly sordid and bizarre story of his brother’s life and recounts his brother’s experiences with both charismatic hilarity and heart-warming, poignant reflection.” Presented by D&D Comedy and Big Britches Productions.

On Thursday, Dec. 22, The Hapa Hillbillies return to the stage for another irreverent Christmas show at The Ruins in Hood River. "Once again, back by unpopular demand, The Hapa Hillbillies unleash their disturbing, disgusting, immature and irreverent take on the holiday season. This year the band is delighted to be presenting The Tickle Sisters, who were raised in a convent, educated on a farm, married in disgrace, divorced in shame - yet - they will still sing their little hearts out for you. The Dalles Library hosts the Traveling Lantern production of “Scrooge,” on Monday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m. “It’s the Classic tale of a miser's redemption.

Ebenezer Scrooge is a nasty, mean, snarling old geezer with no care for anything other than his money. His one and only friend visits him as a ghost, and starts him on a journey that melts his icy heart and teaches him the joys of caring for, and giving to others.”

‘Instagram’ Christmas at HR Library

“Get in the spooky holiday mood as members of the Hood River Library staff read “A Christmas Carol” on Instagram Live. Staff will read a section each night as old Scrooge learns the true meaning of Christmas.

Readings will be live at 3 p.m. on December 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24 and then on Instagram stories for the rest of the day.”

Advent Concerts return to Riverside

From jazz, rock, country and blues, from old standards to fresh new work, this year’s Advent Concert Series at Hood River’s Riverside Community Church is a Christmas stocking of delights. The free concerts, on Fridays at Noon in the Riverside Sanctuary, are a 50-year tradition at Riverside.

​The Dalles Art Center is excited for the upcoming Holiday Art Show.
