Pride Alliance Conducts LGBTQIA+ Community Needs Assessment

by Cole Goodwin

The Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance (CGPA) Columbia Gorge Pride was established in 2017 to create a secure space for the LGBTQIA2S+ community in the Gorge. To further understand the needs and strengths of the LGBTQIA2S+ community in the Columbia River Gorge, CGPA is conducting an online survey.

The survey is designed for members of the LGBTQ+ community in The Gorge, which includes Hood River, Wasco, Klickitat and Skamania Counties. CGPA requests that individuals who do not identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community refrain from taking the survey but instead pass it along to their LGBTQ+ friends.

The online survey aims to gather data and insights into the experiences of members of the LGBTQ+ community in the Gorge, with the goal of creating programs and services tailored to meet their specific needs. The survey covers a range of topics, including access to healthcare, discrimination, housing, and community events.

CGPA emphasizes that the survey is anonymous and confidential, and that no personal information will be shared or used without explicit consent.

The CGPA hopes to hear from the members of the community about the issues that matter most to them, and give them a better understanding of the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals in the Gorge, so that they continue to provide needed support and resources.

To participate in the survey, individuals can follow the link provided at gorgepride.org/survey. CGPA encourages all members of the LGBTQ+ community in the Gorge to take the survey and share their experiences, as their voices are essential in shaping the future of the community.
