Inslee previews budget strategy to take down fentanyl
Governor Jay Inslee, convened a roundtable discussion with experts at Evergreen Recovery Center in Everett on Monday to discuss budget changes to address the fentanyl crisis. Inslee has proposed a substantial budget increase which would earmark over $50 million to combat opioid misuse for the 2023–25 biennium.

Students from Hood River, The Dalles, and WyEast middle schools secured spots to the state championship at the Stuff the Turkey VEX IQ Robotics Tournament in The Dalles the weekend of November 18. These teams will qualify for the chance to showcase their skills at the Oregon State VEX IQ Robotics Championship in Sandy, Oregon, on Saturday, February 24th.
Missing Man's Remains Identified in Klickitat County
The Klickitat County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) has announced the positive identification of human remains found in a wooded area near Bates Road in White Salmon on September 28, 2023. The remains have been identified as those of 41-year-old Gary A. Zosel, who went missing in late 2021.

Google going great guns; here comes another one
Contractors at the new Google data center site were busy this afternoon, Nov. 28. The walls for the first of two data centers were erected for the first 288,000-square-foot facility months ago. Google’s contractor Whiting-Turner has now submitted a second request to site and construct the second data center at 290,000 square feet to the City of The Dalles planning department.
