It takes family and good schools - A major factor in Jorge Barragan’s success is that people in The Dalles know and trust him. The 2010 TDW High School grad is big on giving back to our community. He is one of the few Spanish-speaking realtors in the gorge. He’s also a member of Rotary and the MCMC Health Foundation. His Wife, Chelsea coaches soccer and Jorge helps out. Win, Win, Win, Win….
Fields, Forests, and Faster: The Last Three Weeks of Riverhawk Cross Country
While the results of the last three weeks have been heady and exciting, The Dalles runners know not to count their riverhawks or districts before they’ve hatched. If anything, their strong showing at the district preview and the 3k tuneup will likely motivate the other Tri-Valley teams to outwork and out-kick them this week.

Anselmo Arzeta Hernandez Pleads Guilty to Mulitple Sex Crimes
Today, Oct 20, Wasco County District Attorney Matthew Ellis announced that 41-year-old Aselmo Arzeta received a seventeen (17) year prison sentence after pleading guilty to one count of Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree, one count of Sodomy in the First Degree, and one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.

Water Service Line Survey: Watch for it in your mailbox
The City of The Dalles water service line survey has been mailed out to every water customer in the City’s service area. The City of The Dalles has no known lead service lines in our system. However, to comply with the Federal Lead and Copper Rule Revised, the City must record an inventory of all materials in our system from the water main to where the service line connects to your building.

In case you missed it: In this report about ADA accessibility in The Dalles High School, CCCNews followed 16-year-old Larkin Hampton as they attempted to access the entire school. Hampton is not disabled, but rather had a temporary ankle injury; however, Larkin’s temporary condition made it possible for CCCNews to get a clearer understanding of the challenges a person with disabilities might encounter while attempting to attend TDHS.
