Columbia Gorge Discovery Center in The Dalles hosts Archeology Roadshow on Dec. 6
The Columbia Gorge Discovery Center brings the region’s deep past to life on Dec. 6 as the Archaeology Roadshow returns with more than two dozen pop-up exhibits, hands-on activities, and artifact experts. From robotics demos to craft traditions — plus Indian tacos and huckleberry treats — the free family event explores the stories behind the Gorge’s oldest objects and living cultures.
Local Organizations Team Up to Host Winter Coat Drive
Insitu, Washington Federal Bank, Columbia Gorge Education Service District, Washington Gorge Action Programs, Mid-Columbia Community Action Council, and The Next Door Inc. are teaming up to host a winter coat drive for local area youth! As we approach the cold winter months, you can donate new and like-new coats for all ages now through the end of December.

Hood River Farmers Market’s tenth winter season starts on Saturday, December 6th! Hood River Farmers Market is the only year-round farmers market in the Gorge. It’s open on 1st and 3rd Saturdays, December through April, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. During the winter, the market remains outside but moves to 403 Portway Avenue on the waterfront, near Ferment Brewing.
