Bargeway kicks off a week of entertainment tonight with the inventive chords of Chris Baron. There’s a lot going on in The Gorge this week, including The Little Shop of Horrors, Birds and Brews, Roller Skating, Book Signings, Movies, and tons of live music. Check it all out here.

Eric Leadbetter performs at Bargeway Pub tonight, April 19. The show starts at 6 p.m. His music is very unique and original, with ghostly echoes of the golden ages of rock. Eric is kicking off a huge week of entertainment as music, comedy art, and all forms of entertainment are spread far and wide this week in the Gorge.

I found myself perplexed lately by the contentious issue in The Dalles of where to open a shelter for the houseless… I experience this sort of dilemma often. When I am able to empathize with both sides of an issue, I  realize how complex some decisions really are. At times there's no right answer.

The Bargeway Pub welcomes "Martino" Gerschwitz on Wednesday, April 12. Martin has toured with such bands as "Eric Burdon and the Animals" and "Iron Butterfly". In addition to the music, there are talks on the Volcanic Origins of the Columbia River, Comedians, drum circles and a nice run in Cascade Locks ending at Gorges Beer Co. Want to know more?

April Power brings musical flowers this week as the Bargeway Pub kicks it off with a show tonight, April 5 at 6 p.m. with Sarah Lodge & Dan Polidori playing an eclectic acoustic blend of top R&B, soul, pop and blues music. It’s just one of the dozens of offerings in music, literature, festivals, art, drum circles, plays, movies and more. White Salmon will soon have to say goodbye to Chesser Roe, home to some of the most truly remarkable teas and boba milk tea in the Columbia River Gorge. The locally owned handcrafted-tea shop will close its doors on Saturday March 18th at 5 p.m.

What a great way to stay toasted on a cold day. Exit 69 was as good a Cold IPA as I have had. I put it up there with Boneyard’s RPM. So good in fact, we bought the four-pack of 16-ouncers to share during the week. It was a short week. At 6.3 percent alcohol, it had a good kick and a lightness that led to a second pint. 

Choice is huge this week as Jim Drake brings us the latest, greatest in entertainment happenings throughout the Gorge. Furtado plays multiple instruments including some phenomenal slide guitar and banjo hits The Dalles Art Center on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. And just down the street, comedian Adam Pasi will bring his unique flavor of humor to The Granada on the same night. Knock at the Cabin is a tense thriller about—maybe?—the end of the world, where four strangers invade the vacation rental of a gay couple and their daughter. What follows is a muddled, pseudo-philosophical exploration on the nature of belief and what one would do—or wouldn’t do—to stop the world from ending. 

Did you know that when you hear something negative, your brain is wired to react to it even if it affects you negatively later? Donna Henderson offers us some interesting insight into this completely normal human response and then shows us a way to own it.

My predictions for Best Picture? It’s a tough call. While Everything Everywhere All at Once leads the pack in the number of nominations (11 in total), this is, historically, an uneven indicator as to whether it will win, and in the last few years, results have actually gone the other direction. So we can’t count out Banshees of Inisherin, The Fabelmans, Triangle of Sadness, or even Tár for that matter–though.
