The idea was to encourage a culturally sensitive approach for the immigrant community to come together with medical professionals to access free vaccinations and booster shots. Guess what? It worked.

The program now runs year-round. It covers all types of heating, including propane, electric, gas, oil, coal, and wood. Those using wood sources receive a vendor voucher. The vendor would request reimbursement through Washington Gorge Action Programs (WAGAP).

But, they’re gonna need our help.

The Dalles is known for it’s love of community clean ups, but this group is taking community clean up to a whole new level.

The City of White Salmon will be giving away a tree seedling and free bag of bark mulch for each family, while supplies last. Trees and mulch will be available on a first come, first served basis beginning at 9:00 a.m. in Rheingarten Park at the picnic pavilion in the SE corner of the park.

A call for volunteers, partners and sponsors is being made to support the Community Cleanup of Bingen - White Salmon, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and will be held Friday and Saturday, May 21-22, in Bingen, Washington. Sign up here.
