The Dalles City Park buzzed with excitement last night, Aug. 6th, as the community gathered for the second annual National Night Out event.

Firing operations were successful in the southeast corner of the fire yesterday. Crews were able to construct fireline down to the old Eagle Creek burn scar and connect to established control lines in the northeast part of the fire.

The lightning-caused fire has been burning since Monday in heavy timber and took off on Tuesday, Aug. 6 when winds sent embers ahead spotting new fires.

Her vehicle could be seen driving up the driver's rear quarter panel and going up on two wheels before coming to rest back on all four tires in the center of the street.
