Route 30 revved over 'Ride Thru' today, July 31
Hundreds of bikers made their pilgrimage to The Dalles today to Ride Thru Route 30 Burgers Bottles and Brews in downtown in an effort to raise money to help those suffering from mental health struggles and to help prevent youth violence, especially in schools.
Johna and Bryan Laroque, owners of Route 30, were expecting 1,000 motorcycle riders this weekend as Route 30 fundraises for Emilio Inc.
The nonprofit raises money to help with mental health stuggles and preventing youth violence.
It is named after Emilio Hoffman who died in a school shooting at Reynolds High School in Troutdale in 2014. He was shot when another freshman boy brought multiple guns and ammunition into the boy’s locker room.
Last year, overall efforts in The Dalles raised some $18,000 for Emilio Inc., said Laroque earlier this week.
