The Dalles, OR June, 25th, 2023— Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance (CGPA) hosted their 2nd annual pride parade and resource fair in The Dalles on June 25th. Over 150 people marched in the parade and about 300 people visited the resource fair at Lewis and Clark Festival Park throughout the day. The LGBTQ+ Youth Council had a craft booth and a free zumba class was held during the event.
“It was a really good day,” said Kit Clasen, CPGA organizer.
“It felt safer this year,” said an attendee in response.
“Yeah it did, feel safer, it felt good,” responded a few others who were listening to the conversation.
“I’m really proud of The Dalles, I’m really proud of my community for having this event,” said Joy Reyneke who photographed the event.
Many local organizations participated in the event including The Link, The Next Door, The Dalles Wasco-County Library, North Central Public Health District, ODHS Child Welfare, Eastern Oregon Center for Independent Living, Gorge Roller Derby, Miller Girls Pet Care Service, Gorge Youth Mentoring, Basic Rights Oregon, Brighter Future Creative, Greater Oregon Behavioral Health Inc, The Dalles United Church of Christ Congretional, One Community Health, Oregon Health Authority, Gorge Abortion Access Collective, Lilli’s Jewels, Youth Empowerment Shelter, MId-Columbia Children’s Council, Columbia Gorge Community College’s EQUAL club, Mid-Columbia Childrens Council, Helping Hands Against Violence, National Alliance on Mental Illness, NCSmith Designs, Bethel UCC’s Our Whole Lives program, and Embody Your Senses.
