Yes on Bond for Columbia Gorge Community College

To the editor,

I strongly encourage a "yes" vote on the upcoming bond measure for Columbia Gorge Community College (CGCC).

CGCC may not always be top of mind for many of us, but its influence on our region is unmistakable. From nursing and healthcare programs to trades and technical training, CGCC equips residents with the skills to thrive in essential local industries. In many ways, the services we rely on daily are supported by CGCC graduates and certificate holders.

The bond on this year’s ballot will ensure the college can continue to provide high-demand workforce training in safer, more modern facilities. And with $5.5 million in state matching funds on the line, we have an opportunity to maximize our investment without increasing tax rates.

Supporting this bond is about more than a campus—it's about securing a strong future for the Columbia Gorge region. Vote yes for CGCC.
