Maples surrender under Mill Creek Pedestrian Bridge

Curtiss Reeves, 44, of The Dalles, takes a quiet moment on Mill Creek this morning, Monday, Nov. 9, as maple leaves fall from their branches and into the rippling water. Reeves said the Creek is a place of grounding for him, which drowns out the sound of toil. Forecasters say there is a 50 percent chance of rain tomorrow and temps will remain in the high 40’s for the week. I think old Sol could prove them wrong today.

Richardson brings new face to TD Council

The Dalles City Council will welcome just one new City Councilor on Jan. 1 after four contested races on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Dan Richardson grabbed 3,968 votes in his race for Council Position 4 against John Grant, 1,258 votes, and F John Ercole, 596 votes, in unofficial Wasco County Election results. And he’s ready to roll up his sleeves.

Cool Runnings - voters turning out in Wasco County

Tom Springs of The Dalles braved the cold weather on his motorcycle this morning to hand off his ballot at The Wasco County Courthouse. It is Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3. You have until 8 p.m. to get those ballots dropped. Of the 18,211, ballots sent out, 12,958 had been returned as of this morning, according to Wasco County Clerk Lisa Gambee. That is 71 percent.
