White Salmon Community Enjoys a Fun Halloween

White Salmon community members were out and about the town last night enjoying the free Downtown Trick or Treat hosted by local businesses and the Festival of Light hosted by local churches and ministries including Grace Baptist Church. Children and adults alike appeared to be having a wonderful time running around in their costumes, drinking hot cider, playing classic festival games like balloon darts, and of course indulging in a lot of sugary treats.

“It feels great to be back here, we’ve had beautiful weather,” said Isaac Bell, who DJ’d the Festival of Light.

Bell said it was nice to be back downtown celebrating with the community.

“Last year we went out to individual homes and this year we came back to the middle of town and I think that was well received,” said Bell.

The Festival of Light included lots of fun games for the community to play.

“We’ve got dart balloons, target practice with some NERF guns, a fishing booth, Ping-Pong-Bounce and face painting, hot cider, and some trick games,” said Austin Bell, Vice President at Grace Baptist Church.

Bell helped to coordinate the Festival of Light event.

“A lot of people go to the downtown trick or treat and then end up here and hang out here for quite a while,” said Bell.

Bell said it was great to see how the community had been a continuous supporter of the Festival of Light event over the years.

“It's been about twenty two years we’ve been doing this. And there’s a lot of people here who brought their kids who attended this when they were kids,” said Bell. “White Salmon says community. You can really see the community here.”

Bell wanted to thank everyone who helped make the event possible and the community for coming out to support the event.
