The Dalles, Ore., Nov. 28, 2024 — More than 200 people braved the chill 35-degree temps this Thanksgiving morning to stretch their legs at the annual Turkey Trot.
Sponsored by Columbia Gorge Motors, the fundraiser for the Columbia Gorge Humane Society which operates out of the Port of the Dalles.
Eddie Madrigal with Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue looked pretty darn warm as he wore his turnouts and was set to run the 5k portion of the race.
He was likely feeling the fire after that first k.
“I’ve done this a couple of times,” he said, noting he recently finished an Iron Man competition.
The race included two events - a 5k and a 1k family walk.
Eddie Madrigal and friend were numbered and ready to run this morning, turnouts included.
Proper Stretching is always a good way to start. Readers might also want to do some crunches and planks today before heading into that turkey feast.
This Little Lion ware ready to roar to the finish line as that mane made for great insulation.
Arron and Rachel Carter along with their Dogurky Lady made it to the finish line on another successful Turkey Trot, bringing friends, family and community together. This was the fourth annual Trot.
