Water main upgrade will force detours, parking closures on Mt. Hood Street starting on Monday

The Dalles, Ore., March 7, 2025 — The Dalles Public Works will be begin work on Mt. Hood St. between W 10th St. and W 11th St. to replace and upgrade a water main on Monday March 10.
Full street closure on Mt. Hood St. will remain in place from Monday, March 10 to Tuesday, March 11. Motor vehicles and bicyclists will be detoured to adjacent side streets. Pedestrian and sidewalk access will remain open through the duration of this work.
Work hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on each scheduled work day. The trench for the water main must remain open to cure in place before the asphalt can be patched.
The City of The Dalles asks respectfully that community members proceed with caution in this area during lane and street closures and take careful note of the temporary traffic control devices. Thank you for your attention to traveling safety during this work.
The work requires that Parking will be closed within the project areas to allow room for large equipment to safely move in and out of the area. No parking signs will be placed to guide local car owners as the project moves along the street.
