The Dalles Public Works crews will be cleaning stormwater catch basins throughout the City. The purpose of this work is to protect property and the environment. Cleaning catch basins allows for efficient drainage into the stormwater conveyance system.

The City of The Dalles Public Works Department has announced that it will begin the first phase of a storm water catch basin project on E. 4th Street and Union Street on March 20, 2023. The project's first construction area will be on E. 4th Street between Union and Court Streets, and the work is expected to be completed on March 22, 2023.

The City of the Dalles has received a $50,000 grant to bring back the 50/50 Sidewalk Rehabilitation Program, to help address the issue of deteriorated sidewalks inside The Dalles city limits. The City is now accepting applications from residential property owners seeking financial assistance with their sidewalk repair projects.
