Fishing Guide's body recovered downstream of White Salmon River on Monday, sept. 30
Michael Shufeldt of Woodland, Wash., was found at about 9:48 am in the Columbia River approximately 1.75 miles west of where he was last seen near the mouth of the White Salmon River. The commercial fishing guide was the only one to perish when the wind blew up and a wave capsized his boat on Sept. 25. His six passengers were rescued.
Get Ready To Blow It UP! Fourth of July igniting around the Gorge
It’s time to light that fuse.
Patriotism is blowing up all over the Gorge as the towns of the Mid-Columbia are riding the Fourth of July Rocket into a deluge of parades, runs, food, music and good times with our neighbors. The Dalles, Hood River, Goldendale, Cascade Locks, White Salmon, Stevenson, and Skamania County are all offering a charcuterie tray of fun peppered with gunpowder.
