Josh Konell, seen above maneuvering the Caterpillar Excavator weighing in at around 55,000 pounds made its way into the staging area behind Tony’s Town and Country off of First Street. Demolition of the building at 401-407 E. Second Street will begin shortly.
Crestline Construction took down a long-vacant warehouse that once housed The Dalles Soda Works on Thursday, April 27. The Building sits next to Domino’s Pizza at 800 E. 2nd St.
TD Urban Renewal Agency Board is moving forwards with plans to demolish the Tony’s Town and Country building, and the Recreation building will get another year to finish construction. The board also discussed financial incentive programs, affordable housing, and elected new officers.
Tony’s Town and Country came one step closer to the wrecking ball today, July 28, after The Dalles Historic Landmarks Commission approved a request to have the building leveled by the Columbia Gateway Urban Renewal Board.
