Friends Zeke and Ronnie of Hood River were working their usual corner today, July 18, at 12th Street and Montello Avenue as temps climbed into the high 80s. The kids were running a brisk business, relying on the stop sign to halt cars so they could ask passengers if they might indulge in one of their Solo cups of cool lemonade bliss for a buck.

Above, Kyle Smith of Hood River, bought one cup, and then handed over another couple of dollars and got a second, supplying his driver.

The boys said they were raising money so they could have some fun at the Hood River County Fair July 26 - 29 at 3020 Wyeast Road in Odell.

We’re going to buy food, Zeke said.

“I like the Greek,” Ronnie said of purchasing a gyro at the Fair last year.

“I don’t know what I would get,” Zeke said. “I’ve never been.”

Will the lemonade stand be here tomorrow?

“We will be here some more days,” Zeke said.
