Moro, Ore. Feb. 20, 2025 — Rising grocery prices stressing you out? Want to stretch your food budget by growing, eating and storing some food that you grew yourself? Interested in gardening and want to grow plants, be outside, and get some physical activity, too? Need tips and budget-friendly ways to have a vegetable garden in the space that is available to you?
Mark your calendar for the Seed to Supper gardening classes in Sherman County. Seed to Supper is a free, comprehensive beginning vegetable gardening curriculum designed for adults gardening on a budget. The course highlights practical, low-cost techniques for building, planning, planting, maintaining, and harvesting a successful vegetable garden. If you are a beginner adult gardener, older adult, and/or low-income household, this class is especially suited for you.

Seed to Supper will be hosted by the Sherman County Senior Center, a congregate meal site, and taught by Oregon State University Extension staff Cindy Brown, a longtime enthusiastic vegetable gardener and cook, with assistance from local OSU Master Gardeners.
Participants will receive a course book, gardening supplies, seeds and plant starts, and a certificate of completion.

There will be two series of classes offered in Sherman County, pick the one that best fits your schedule.
The first series will be held mornings and Wednesdays 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Rufus City Hall on February 26, March 5, March 12, and March 19.
The second series will be held evenings Mondays 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Sherman County Senior Center in Moro on April 7, April 14, April 21, April 28, and May 5.
