Heatwave 2 Coming Through, but not 117
A second heatwave is hitting the Gorge today, July 29, with temperatures in the region to cap 100 degrees for the next three days, according to weather forecasters.
But temperatures will not match the 117 degrees Fahrenheit registered in The Dalles back in late June.
Temperatures are expected to quickly drop back into the 90s and 80s starting on Sunday, Aug. 1.
In this second heatwave, the hottest temperatures are expected in The Dalles. Today the prediction is 106 degrees Fahrenheit with a scorching 111 on Friday, and then dropping to a mere 103 on Saturday.
In comparison, Hood River is expecting 103 today, 105 on Friday and back to 96 on Saturday.
Goldendale is a bit cooler with 99, 104 and then 99 during the same three-day period.
