The Dalles, Ore., Feb. 2, 2024 — The Wasco County District Attorney’s Office is seeking additional information about an alleged sex offender in Tygh Valley.
A Wasco County grand jury indicted local chiropractor, Andrew Houck on two counts of first-degree sex abuse on Jan. 24.
First-degree sex abuse is a Measure 11 crime in Oregon and carries a mandatory prison sentence of six years and three months.
CCCNews contacted Houck by phone at his business number for comment on Friday, Feb. 2.
“I don’t have any comment,” he said.
Meanwhile, the DA’s office states “There are two victims. The victims were middle school-aged girls when seeing Houck, in his capacity as a chiropractor. The incidents occurred roughly a year apart.”
Houck is a 40-year-old male, who lives and works in Tygh Valley. He has no prior criminal history; however, there may be other victims, the DA’s press release states.
The allegations of sexual abuse occurred during examinations with Houck, according to the DA’s office.
Houck is scheduled for his initial appearance on these charges in Room 301 at the Wasco County Courthouse on February 12th at 8:30 am.
“If the public has information about Houck or about other possible victims, please contact Det. Jonah Moore at the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office. He can be reached at 541-506-2580 or at jonahm@co.wasco.or.us,” the DA said in the press release.
This case is being handled by Special Deputy District Attorney Kara Davis.
