First Friday in TD drums out another great event

Downtown The Dalles appears to really have some mojo as the organization of some 30-plus businesses in The Dalles pulled off another great First Friday event on May 6.

Cars lined the streets on second and sidewalks were rustling with seekers of libation, art, music and great food as businesses collaborated with local food and beverage vendors to add some flavor to the evening between 5 and 8 p.m.

Ben Kupchin pours some wine at the Gorge Wine Library at 506 E. 2nd St., as a good crowd punched their library cards. I doubt any of those wines will get charged a late fee. They were right on time, especially after work on a Friday.

Felice was also displaying some knockout strawberries on Friday. Is it art or is it food? Both in this case. The store at 214 Washington Street named Berries by Felice seemed to be a hit as customers grabbed cake pops and then bought some other treats for their Mothers. Good timing Felice. Brilliant!

The Dalles Art Center with a crew of volunteers put up art work drawn by local students at businesses throughout downtown. Thanks Scott Stephenson and his crew for making it happen.
