Cookin' up something good

Montira’s Thai Cuisine at 302 W. Second St. is cooking up something good this morning, Wednesday, Oct. 21. Their marketing department - my money is on owner Ken Sommerfelt- is also having a little fun with it. Wasco County ballot returns continue to surge for the Nov. 3 general election with 3698 of 18,403 ballots already returned. That’s 20.2 percent.

Blue skies are still greeting locals at times. But change those heater filters and insulate your exposed water pipes because the weatherman is calling for a drop to 23 degrees Fahrenheit on Sunday morning.

Also, The Dalles Main Street’s Ghost Walk is continuing downtown through Halloween. Tour-goers use a map provided at check out to find locations with posters, use their smart device to scan the posted QR code and be instantly taken to a short video story of the location’s haunts or hilarious history.
