Current CGCC President Dr. Marta Yera Cronin is set to depart after June 2023.

Columbia Gorge Community College board members agreed Tuesday, Jan. 31, to engage a professional search firm as the college prepares for the departure of Dr. Marta Yera Cronin, CGCC’s president since July 2018. Dr. Cronin will continue to serve until June 30, 2023, when she takes on her new role as president of Delaware County Community College in the State of Pennsylvania.

Board members also agreed to establish a search committee representing internal and external stakeholders. The board followed a similar process in 2017 when it conducted a national search leading to Dr. Cronin’s selection.

Meanwhile, the college is also conducting a search for an executive director for the CGCC Foundation. Wendy Patton, foundation director for the past two years, has accepted a position with Central Oregon Community College Foundation in Bend, Oregon. She will be moving to that new role this month.
