Bomb Threat at Condon and Arlington Schools
From Gilliam County Sheriff’s Office:
Condon, Ore., December 11, 2023 — On December 11, 2023 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Arlington School District received an email advising of a bomb threat. Shortly after, Condon School District received a similar email advising of a bomb threat.
For the safety of all students and staff, all Gilliam County Schools were evacuated and notifications were sent out via the Frontier Regional Alert System.
Resources from Frontier Regional 9-1-1, Gilliam County Sheriff's Office, Wheeler County Sheriff's Office, Sherman County Sheriff's Office, Oregon State Police, North Gilliam Rural Fire Protection District, North Gilliam Medic Ambulance, South Gilliam County Rural Fire Protection District, South Gilliam Ambulance, Oregon Department of Transportation, Gilliam County Road Departments responded to both schools and assisted.
At the time of this posting, all schools have been evacuated and cleared by law enforcement. The threats for both school districts were found out to be false. There is no active threat to our community or our schools at this time. The incident is being investigated by GCSO and the FBI.
