The Wasco Public Library hosted a hands-on cooking event for children on Jan. 30, featuring students from The Dalles High School Advanced Cooking Class. The Kid-Friendly Cooking Class invited children from pre-K to fifth grade to observe and participate in a simple, fun recipe demonstration.

As a dark storm brewed over The Dalles on Thursday evening, Aug. 22, the thunder seemed to carry an ominous warning for those gathered at the Wasco County Public Library: a murder was about to unfold. 

The Wasco County Public Library transformed into a magical realm on July 31 to celebrate Harry Potter's birthday with an enchanting event that delighted fans of all ages. The date marks the occasion in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” when Harry learns he is a wizard on his 11th birthday.

Michelle Yamamoto, owner of the 301 Gallery in Hood River, led a workshop at The Dalles Library where local teens designed and built their own skateboards. 

Over 150 people dressed in their finest royal robes attended The Dalles Wasco County Public Library's second annual Prince and Princess Tea Party on December 29. 

The Dalles-Wasco County Public Library is gearing up for an exciting month of activities centered around J.R.R. Tolkien's prequel to "The Lord of the Rings," "The Hobbit." From March 1st to April 29th, visitors of all ages can enjoy a variety of events that celebrate the beloved fantasy novel.
