Flagstone loses three more to COVID
From North Central Health District Medical Officer Dr. Miriam McDonell:
We are deeply saddened to report the passing of three additional residents at Flagstone Senior Living during the COVID 19 outbreak at the facility, bringing the total death there to 10.
Two passed on Oct. 5 and one died today, Oct. 6
There have now been 13 Wasco County residents who have died related to COVID 19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
At Flagstone, the deaths have occurred among residents of the facilities memory support unit, where all 30 residents have tested positive for COVID 19. Staff and family of staff have also contracted COVID 19 in the outbreak.
Most of the memory support unit residents are being transferred to Emerson House Portland, a facility that specializes in Memory Care and has a dedicated COVID 19 wing. This will ensure the appropriate level of care is available to these residents, as Flagstone has experienced staffing shortages.
We would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the Flagstone staff. They have endured long demanding hours and have remained steadfast in caring for some of the most fragile members of our community. Our hearts go out to the family and friends who have lost a loved one during this time.
